The age of people from the great post war wave of immigration to Australia means that there is a growing need for our services to assist with pension applications and the renewed interest in their cultural heritage by a new generation of Italo-Australians sees more young Australian residents working in Italy and more young Italians visiting Australia.

We intend that this web site should provide helpful information to all of these groups and have taken the opportunity to add to it information about the many examples of Italian excellence and culture in Australia.

Giovanni Centrella eletto segretario generale dell'Ugl all’unanimità

Il Consiglio Nazionale dell’Ugl riunito a Chianciano ha eletto segretario generale Giovanni Centrella, già segretario nazionale dei Metalmeccanici. È stata Renata Polverini, segretario generale uscente e presidente della Regione Lazio, ad indicare il nome di Giovanni Centrella quale suo successore per l’impegno dimostrato in questi anni e per i rilevanti risultati ottenuti nel corso della sua attività sindacale. “Come metalmeccanico – ha detto Giovanni Centrella nel corso del suo intervento – sento il dovere di continuare a fare, anche da segretario generale, ciò che ho sempre fatto anche per consolidare i risultati ottenuti in questi anni dal sindacato: essere accanto ai lavoratori nelle fabbriche e negli uffici, sempre attento alle istanze del territorio”.
Nessun’altra candidatura è stata presentata dal Consiglio nazionale per convergere su una scelta unitaria e dare così continuità all’importante eredità lasciata da Renata Polverini che, nel corso del suo mandato, ha rafforzato il ruolo dell’Ugl quale interlocutore valido e credibile sia nei confronti delle istituzioni sia dei lavoratori.

Cari connazionali,

colgo l’occasione per presentarmi, mi chiamo Rolando Vicari e sono il nuovo Presidente dell’Enas. Sono onorato di aver ricevuto questo incarico specialmente perché so quanto è importante il nostro Ente anche e soprattutto all’estero e quanto siete importanti VOI, gli italiani residenti all’estero. Adesso inizia il nostro viaggio assieme; un viaggio che sono certo significherà un grosso impegno da parte mia per poter accertare che i Vostri diritti siano tutelati nel miglior modo possibile.
Da sempre il nome Enas è sinonimo di efficienza, efficacia e eccellenza. E’ noto che il compito principale del Patronato Enas è quello di assicurare la tutela dei diritti dei lavoratori e dei cittadini italiani, sia in Italia che all’estero. I nostri collaboratori all’estero hanno lavorato, sin dall’inizio, per assicurare che i Vostri diritti fossero sempre rispettati e, affrontando innumerevoli difficoltà e opposizioni, sono comunque riusciti a creare solidarietà e assistenza per tutti Voi.
Vorrei cogliere l’opportunità per ringraziare i nostri collaboratori esteri del buon lavoro che continuano a svolgere, ma vorrei soprattutto ringraziare tutti Voi per l’opportunità che avete dato al nostro Ente di rappresentarVi. Senza il Vostro contributo, il Patronato Enas non avrebbe riscosso tanto successo.
Desidero che sappiate che farò il possibile per seguirVi, attraverso gli uffici Enas in tutto il mondo, con presenza e attenzione. I nostri collaboratori esteri sono sempre pronti ad assisterVi per qualsiasi dubbio o informazione. Sono certo che loro, con l’immensa capacità e l’enorme esperienza pluriennale adeguata al ruolo che ricoprono, potranno sempre aiutarVi, sostenendoVi qualora ne aveste la necessità.
Questo mio nuovo incarico si presenta come un’esperienza unica e meravigliosa e con il vostro aiuto, e con quello di chiunque voglia contribuire a servire le comunità italiane all’estero, sono certo, sarà l’inizio di una fantastica avventura.

With years of experience in Local Government as mayor and a Justice of the peace, Mr Cossari has always worked on behalf of our community: Has participated in migrant conferences, Social Security meetings and is an Elected member of COMITES. With his local government experience, he has an understanding of community issues, an advocate for better services and recognition of our community achievements.

Rose Valeo

Has a background in voluntary work in the area of helping migrants adjust in Australia, has worked with Amis in teaching English to new arrivals. Rose worked in a legal firm in Pitt Street Sydney as secretary. in 1999 Rose was the Mayoress for the City of Maroondah. Currently Rose has the responsibility of attending to the English section of our operation.
